Two historic Kendal properties known as 'The Old Grammar School' have a new date to hit the auction block.
The buildings at Numbers 11 and 9 Church Walk, purchased by local arts and heritage charity Lakeland Arts in 1969 and 2014 respectively, have been used in multiple capacities, from education to residential use.
The buildings will now go up for auction on November 23.
They're Grade II listed, reflecting their historic significance, but require substantial refurbishment.
Unfortunately, funding bids to make the building part of the organisation's museum provision has not been successful.
With careful thought, the organisation decided to sell the properties to use proceeds to focus on the sustainability of its collections, community work and programmes for Abbot Hall and Lakeland Museum in Kendal.
In an excellent location near amenities and transport links, the two lots offer a unique redevelopment opportunity in Kendal's vibrant cultural quarter.
Due to high interest in the property, prospective buyers are encouraged to contact estate agents Armistead Barnett swiftly to arrange viewings before the auction at 7pm on November 23.
