A black metal music festival took place on the banks of Lake Windermere this weekend.

Darkness Over Cumbria is an annual event that gives metal fans from all over the UK the chance to listen to their favourite live music in an outdoor setting.

The organisers described how the support shown has been 'outstanding' and that they are already planning the lineup for next year.

A spokesperson said: "What an amazing weekend - thank you to everyone involved with the festival. 

"It was great to see everyone in the woods, old friends and new!"

NeCrow Events are set to take over the organising of the festival going forward, securing the event's place in the Cumbrian music calendar.
