A UK heatwave is coming to parts of the country this weekend, but there is one flood warning and 16 flood alerts in place across Cumbria.

This is what the Met Office is predicting the weather forecast to be like across Cumbria.  

With Sunrise around 07:25 across the county, Saturday is predicted to begin with a 90% chance of heavy rainfall in Keswick until midday, changing to cloudy in the afternoon.

The government have a flood warning in place for Keswick Campsite and have told members of the public to ‘act now’.

There are also flood alerts in place for: 

  • Lower River Eden
  • Lower River Lune and Conder
  • River Rede
  • Rivers Brathay, Rothay and Winster
  • Rivers Cocker, Marron and Derwent
  • Rivers Duddon, Crake and Mill Beck
  • Rivers Esk and Irthing
  • Rivers Kent and Bela
  • River South Tyne
  • River Tyne
  • Upper River Aire catchment
  • Upper River Derwent, Stonethwaite Beck and Derwent Water
  • Upper River Ribble, Hodder
  • Upper River Tees
  • Upper River Ure and Upper River Wharfe

Elsewhere, there is a 50% chance of precipitation in Carlisle, Penrith and Windermere, with a further 30% chance of rainfall further East in Kendal to start Saturday.

However, for the rest of the afternoon, precipitation is expected to drop to 10% with highs of 17 and 18 Celsius across the county.

The sun is expected to set around 18:33.

Sunday will be a cloudy day for all areas of the County.

The morning is forecast to begin with a moderate 12 Celsius in Carlisle, Kendal, Keswick, Penrith and Windermere, and will rise to highs of 18 Celsius.

There is 5-10% chance of precipitation throughout the day.

The sunset is forecast for around 18:31.
