A COUPLE harvested their love in a wedding featuring a vintage tractor for a special photoshoot.
Sarah Jane Watson, 47, originally from Barrow, married James Hall, 46, from Hertfordshire.
Sarah, who works in sales, first met James, a chief technology officer, in 2003 when they both worked for the same IT reseller in Surbiton, near London.
"We hit it off straight away as we have a very similar sense of humour," said Sarah.
"We have both always been in other relationships but remained good friends until a chance meeting at a conference around six years ago when it was clear we both wanted to move out of the friend zone."
The pair got engaged on Christmas Eve in 2021 at their then-home in Wimbledon Village.
She said: "We were wrapping our dog's presents, wearing our Christmas jumpers, listening to Christmas music and drinking mulled wine. Very festive, a bit of a cliche, but it was private and perfect.
"I said yes and was presented with a beautiful emerald and diamond white gold ring James had commissioned at Hatton Garden."
The pair got married at the New House Farm in Lorton as Sarah spent a lot of time in the Lake District as a child.
The wedding took place on September 2 with more than 80 guests, including friends and family.
The couple hired a vintage tractor to take photos in the picturesque Crummock Water.
"We lost count of all the congratulations and beautiful dress well-wishers we encountered along the way. We felt like celebrities for a fleeting moment," she said.
"I will never forget this small piece of a huge day so massive thanks to our fabulous photographer Clare and Spike the tractor driver."
The couple hired a 10-piece band called Sway Band that covered everything from Disco to Rock.
Sarah said: "Nothing beats a live band at a wedding and they were excellent. Everyone was up dancing. We couldn’t be happier with how our special day went.
"The only downside was that it was over so fast.
"Thank you to all our friends and family that travelled some distance and encountered some traffic issues along the way, thanks for attending and sharing in our special day.
"Thank you to the New House Farm staff's attention to detail which ensured we were all catered for, even ironing all the Groomsmen's shirts - this meant I had a very relaxed morning with my sister and bridesmaids, enjoying some bubbles as part of hair and makeup."
The pair will be spending their honeymoon travelling around Italy in Sicily, Portofino, Florence, Venice, Lake Como and Milan.
