ST Patrick’s CE School at Endmoor has been given 20 Chromebook tablets courtesy of the local community hyperfast broadband volunteer team led by John Lyons.
At a special school assembly, with the B4RN teams present, the tablets were presented to the headteacher Suzanne Edmondson.
With the excess funds raised, Mr Lyons said: "It was not a difficult decision to help the school extend its excellent reputation for its role in the community and provide a legacy for future generations."
The school now has enough Chromebooks so that a whole class can use them individually instead of sharing.
Mrs Edmondson thanked the team for their generosity and said that the Chromebooks would greatly benefit all the pupils in school.
They are already involved in the 'Prodigy' maths project online, which uses games to stimulate learning.
B4RN did not charge the school for the connection to the hyperfast broadband network. Mrs Edmondson said this has saved the school more than £3,000 per year, which can be spent on books and teaching aids.
