NEWLYWEDS picked a 'beautiful little village' in the Lake District to tight their knot with 94 guests.
30-year-old Laura Hoyle, who works in HR for a bank married the 31-year-old engineering manager Daniel Bell.
The couple met on the online dating app Bumble in 2018.
"We were attracted to each other's love of food, visiting new places and the ability to make the other laugh," said Laura.
In 2020 the couple visited Cartmel and 'fell in love' with the 'beautiful little village'. On a getaway trip back to Cartmell in 2022, Daniel proposed to Laura.
Laura said: "The proposal was a surprise to me, we were staying in the old jail lock up in Cartmel and when we arrived, Dan had got the owner to leave rose petals on the bed writing out 'Will you marry me?'"
The couple got married at Cartmel Old Grammar Country House on July 1 2023 with 94 guests.
"We are so grateful that all our family and friends were able to travel from Derbyshire, Staffordshire, Scotland, Cornwall and even Dubai to celebrate with us for the weekend," said Laura.
"Almost all of our guests joined us the day before the wedding at Cartmel Races on the Friday. Although it rained all day, we had a brilliant time. It was music day at the races and we danced the night away to Bjorn Again who were amazing. I absolutely love Abba and so when we found out they were playing on our wedding weekend, it felt like it was all meant to be.
"Our wedding day was everything we had dreamed of and more. It rained slightly in the morning, but the sunshine came out for us in the afternoon so we could have our photos outside and then it stayed dry for the rest of the night so our guests could enjoy the outside terrace in the evening, and we had outdoor games on the lawns."
The couple flew to Montenegro for their honeymoon two weeks after their wedding.
Laura said: "It was nice to have the break between the two to digest everything from the wedding and have time to pack. Montenegro is beautiful and we had an amazing time relaxing by the pool, exploring the pretty towns and trying lots of new food.
"It was very hot at 40 degrees most days so the pool was always a welcome treat."
