A dog walking business in Ambleside has been shortlisted for a national award for the second year running.
Up for the Dog Walking Business of the Year award, Ambleside Dog Walker will be hoping that they can win the trophy they earned last year.
The team have also been shortlisted in the Pet Service Business of the Year for their 'Dapper Dog Wedding Services'.
Nigel Oldroyd, who runs the business alongside his wife Tamsin Rogers, said: "We're over the moon to be recognised for a second year, and to be shortlisted for two categories is more than we could have dreamed of, with a record number of entries this year!
"We so enjoy providing outstanding care for our four legged friends and work hard to consistently deliver the highest standards, reinvesting in the business and in our own continuing education and training as we grow."
Mr Oldroyd added that this was especially important because the dog walking industry is still an unregulated one.
The Pet Industry Federation (PIF), the membership association for the pet industry, strives to raise standards whilst working closely with Defra, and their national awards celebrate excellence in the pet industry.
Ambleside Dog Walker provides adventure treks, 'Sniffaris', day care and dog sitting for local clients in the South Lake District, as well as for tourists visiting the area.
Their work with weddings developed through identifying a need for quality wedding dog care and chaperone services in the area with the Lake District being a popular destination location for getaway weddings and elopements.
"We love helping to make couples' big day extra special by providing exceptional care for their dogs and enabling them to be a part of the day too," Mr Oldroyd explained.
"Our dog-centred approach is designed to ensure that the dogs have a super day too and that any attendance at the wedding is a calm and enjoyable experience for them."
The awards evening later this year will also coincide with the 75th anniversary of the PIF.
