A pay rise for police officers across the country has fallen short of expectations, according to the Cumbria Police Federation.
From September 1, an uplift of 7% will be seen for officers, whereas the PFEW (Police Federation for England and Wales) was campaigning for 17%.
The move was agreed by the government in July following the findings of the Police Remuneration Review Body (PRRB).
In a statement released in their Autumn newsletter, the federation said: "This pay award goes a small way to redressing the imbalance in police pay for what is a unique job in trying times.
"The PFEW will continue to campaign locally and nationally for further increases and improved conditions."
Following the government's agreement with the research conducted by the PRRB, the federation also added that they intend to hold those in charge to account going forward.
