THE SOUTH Lakes MP said he was 'absolutely gutted' about having to cancel his football surgeries due to a broken finger.
Tim Farron was meant to spend the day playing football and discussing local issues with children and adults at Hallgarth, Sandylands and Brockbeck games areas.
However, the MP said he would have to cancel his football surgeries at Sandylands and Kirkbarrow after sustaining an injury during his morning session at Hallgarth.
He said: "I'm currently sat at Westmorland General Hospital with a broken finger! So sorry to everyone who was planning to come along."
After the surgery, he posted an update: "My football surgery ended up with me needing surgery! A failed attempt to save a shot at Hallgarth led to a painful dislocation. I’m so sorry to all the kids we missed, we’ll reschedule soon, and massive thanks to Westmorland's urgent treatment centre for the brilliant care!"
