Pages from a pair of rare books from the 1400s are up for sale this weekend at a Kendal book fair.
The item on offer will be a single Incunable leaf that was originally printed in either 1486 or 1495, potentially making it the oldest print document in the region.
The fair is taking place on Saturday, September 2, with the special item on sale for £250.
Whilst the covers have been lost to time, research indicates that the author was Franciscus de Accoltis, an Italian lawyer of great renown who died around 1486.
The document is printed in Latin, with capital letters and certain passages shown in red.
The book is being sold by Roger Treglown, an antiquarian and owner of Rare Books of Heversham.
More information can be found at www.rogerjtreglown.com, with the fair taking place at Stricklandgate House, 92 Stricklandgate, Kendal.
