TWO lovebirds who got engaged on top of a mountain in the Lake District have celebrated their 'fairytale' wedding ceremony.
Emily Tully (now Emily Stock), a 26-year-old, married the 32-year-old Jamie Stock.
The couple met for the first time nine years ago.
"Jamie worked at the same company my mum worked at, and he drove her home one day as the car went in for an MOT," said Emily.
"As he was going out for a friend's birthday that night and was looking up taxis, I offered to give him and his friends a lift home. I ended up joining them for the night out, giving them a lift home and sitting in the car outside his house chatting until 4am. We just didn’t want to stop talking to each other, and we haven’t since."
Jamie proposed on top of a mountain in the Lake District in October 2020.
The pair had driven over five hours and when they got close to the hotel Jamie suggested a 'spontaneous' hike before getting to the hotel, which Emily said turned out to be 'one of the happiest days of our lives.'
"He had even lugged up a bottle of Champaign with glasses and a GoPro to film it in secret. It was perfect," said Emily.
They got married at Silverholme Manor in Ulverston on March 29 2023.
The couple rented the Manor House for the whole week with 18 of their closest family and had 34 people present for their intimate ceremony.
Emily said: "It was an absolute fairytale, and the rain and raw outdoors just made it even more perfect for us.
"Silverholme Manor was just breathtaking, and I absolutely loved having a completely blank canvas to fully decorate ourselves."
"We are so grateful to all of our family and friends for travelling si hours for our wedding and then attending the second celebration at our local. The day was filled with smiles, laughter and forever memories."
As the wedding was a lot of planning, the couple, both from Sevenoaks in Kent and co-founders of Konsidered, an e-commerce and marketing consultancy, didn’t plan a honeymoon straight away. However, they are heading to Canada for a month in August and will be travelling to Hawaii next year.
