An artist is running a free hands-on workshop at Abbot Hall, Kendal, between 12pm – 3pm on Saturday.
Frances Disley, a visual artist from Liverpool, explores our relationships with nature and investigates the psychological benefits of being around plants and the sanctuary that local ecosystems can provide for communities.
Her workshop, launched in celebration of Disley’s new book Talk to the Garden, will be an opportunity to engage with the biodiversity of the local landscape, as well as discover the properties of native plants.
The workshop will have a focus on Abbot Hall’s oval lawn and will invite the public to consider how the flora and fauna within the area could develop and thrive.
Helen Stalker, Senior Curator at Lakeland Arts, said: “This workshop is a perfect way to begin a conversation about the potential of our nearby green spaces as thriving places for nature and connectivity.”
