THE owners of a pub in Kendal which underwent a £350k refurbishment have revealed their decision to hand over the reins.
Owners and managing directors of The Shakespeare Inn, David and Lynne Burgoyne, have shared their 'difficult decision' to leave the helm of the pub after eight years.

The pub underwent a six-week refurbishment in 2018 costing £350,000.

Revealing their decision to leave the business online, the pair said: "It was a very difficult decision to make but after eight years at the helm, the time is right to move on to next chapter of our lives and hand over a pub that means so much to us.
"We would like to thank the team for all their hard work, professionalism and customer service that would be hard to beat anywhere.
"Without the team, none of our success would have been possible. We would also like to send heartfelt thanks to our customers old and new for their support, stories and friendship. Take care everyone, see you on the other side of the bar!"
