A LAKE District hotel has been named for not paying their staff the minimum wage.
The Hideaway, in Phoenix Way, Windermere, has been listed among over 200 other employers by the government for failing to pay their lowest-paid staff the minimum wage.
The 202 employers were found to have failed to pay their workers almost £5 million in a clear breach of the National Minimum Wage (NMW) law, leaving around 63,000 workers out of pocket.
Companies being named today range from major high street brands to small businesses and sole traders, in a clear message from the government that no employer is exempt from paying their workers the statutory minimum wage.
According to the information released by the government, Mr Henry Gornall, Mrs Joesphine Gornall, Mrs Lisa Gornall and Mr Richard Gornall, trading as The Hideaway, have failed to pay £620.75 to three workers.
Bosses at the hotel have been contacted for a comment.
