A WOMAN is embarking on her biggest challenge to date to help save Ruskin's View.
Claire Turner, from Kirkby Lonsdale, will be running 70 miles along Hadrian's Wall, from Carlisle to Gateshead, to raise funds to help save the iconic view.
The challenge on Saturday is part of The Wall ultra-marathon.
The personal trainer and wellness coach will start at 7am and hopes to complete it at midnight.
Claire said: "I have been consistently training since January and I have absolutely loved having a goal again. Long-distance running is my soul food.
"Ruskin's View is an iconic part of Kirkby Lonsdale, and since the view has closed, the town is impacted as people are no longer able to appreciate the beauty of this spectacular area fully.
"I would genuinely walk there daily, and the view is just amazing. I really miss it whilst it has not been open."
Due to erosion by the River Lune below, Ruskin's View remains closed until it can be repaired.
Campaigners all over Cumbria are trying to raise £1m to open up access to the view.
Claire has so far raised £930 of her £2,000 target.
