A COUPLE who first met in a Barrow pub eight years ago tied the knot with a 'perfect' wedding with 60 guests.
Amyleigh Rawlinson, an ancillary Cleaner in BAE Systems has married Robert Everett, an electrician in BAE Systems.
The couple from met in the Barrow Arms on a night out back in 2015.
"I was instantly taken in by how beautiful Amy looked," said Robert.
"After chatting for a while I offered my hand and we headed to the bar.
"We had a brief drink together and then we met up the following day for a coffee and a walk down the canal.
"We officially became a couple on Valentine's Day and now here we are as husband and wife."
The couple got engaged in May 2018 while on holiday in Italy.
Robert said: "I surprised Amy with a night away in a spa hotel and had decorated the room.
"We were staying in a room with an Italy flag, Italian balloons and the flight tickets to further suprise her with a trip to Italy. We then headed to Venice, where I then proposed to Amy during a ride on a gondola and she said yes."
The couple got married in May 26 2022 after being postponed for a year due to Covid restrictions.
They were wed at St John's Church in Keswick and the reception was at Lodore Falls Hotel and Spa with 60 guests attending the ceremony.
The couple said that the day was 'perfect' and wish they could 'relive it over and over.'
Robert said: "The highlight for myself would be seeing Amy walk down the aisle and how beautiful she looked. It's something I'll never forget and a memory I will always cherish.
"We had a classic Beauford as our main wedding car which took us back to Lodore Falls with some champagne in hand.
"We wanted our to spend our wedding like movie stars."
Amy had one maid of honour, Stacey Ralph, and four bridesmaids - Fern Davies, Chloe Rawlinson, Amy Wilde and Abbeygayle Rawlinson.
Robert had one best man, Fraser Livesey, and three Groomsmen - Martyn Ward, Jonny Comish and Jay Rollinson.
Their two daughters, Nevaeh and Aurora, were the flower girls and their nephew Rafael the page boy.
Their first dance was to an acoustic mix of L'amour Toujours by Joanna Gypser.
Robert said: "As we both love our dance music, it seemed fitting to bring a part of that to our special day. This then went straight into the Tiesto club mix where everyone joined us on the dancefloor and danced the night away."
The pair went to Mykonos in Greece for their honeymoon after the wedding.
Robert said: "It was lovely there seeing the famous windmills in the old town, relaxing on paradise beach and heading out to sea on the catamaran with some cocktails."
