SOUTH Lakes Police are patrolling the Devil's Bridge after reports that young people intend to jump into the river.
The bridge, in Kirkby Lonsdale, is known as a popular spot for people to visit but often reports are made of people jumping off the bridge into the waters below.
Several people have been injured over the years at the site.
A spokesperson of South Lakes Police said: "Concerns have been raised with the police about young people intending to jump into the river at Devil’s Bridge, Kirkby Lonsdale, today.
"As such, we will have patrols in the area.
"There is a by-law aimed at deterring people – but far more importantly, it is extremely dangerous to jump off the bridge and anyone doing so would put themselves at serious risk.
"Please speak to your children to make sure they are aware of the dangers."
