MORECAMBE Bay Trust has revealed how many babies were born at its maternity wards in March. 

Royal Lancaster Infirmary, South Lakes Birth Centre and Helme Chase are the three wards under Morecambe Bay.

According to the trust, 146 babies were born at the RLI, 72 at South Lakes Birth Centre, four at home or other and two at Helme Chase. 117 of these were boys and 107 were girls.

There were four sets of twins born and 141 siblings born. The heaviest baby was 10lbs 7ozs and the lightest baby was just 2lbs 4ozs. 

The 'most eager baby' was born at 27 weeks and the 'most comfortable' babies were born at 42 weeks.
