AWARD-WINNING chef Simon Rogan has launched a new farm tour experience.
Bookings are now open for the A Day at Our Farm tour and lunch at Our Farm in Cartmel.
Our Farm, where produce for Simon's Lake District restaurants L'Enclume, Rogan & Co, Henrock and Aulis Cartmel is cultivated, was established in 2011 and has since tripled in size.
Having propelled him as a pioneer of the farm-to-fork movement in the UK, in 2021, L’Enclume was awarded a Michelin Green Star for its sustainability efforts.
Tours, led by head farmer John Rowland and Our Farm head chef Liam Fitzpatrick, will welcome up to 16 guests at a time with snacks served en route according to each growing bed and produce available.
The pair will also share details on the group’s sustainability practices including its mission to become zero waste.
While guests enjoy an alfresco, sharing lunch, Liam will demonstrate how to cook one of Simon’s favourite dishes, roast gem lettuce, hen of woods, fermented mushroom juice and elderflower, which was immortalised in Simon’s One Dish book, created in commemoration of the Simon Rogan Group’s 20th anniversary celebrated in 2022.
Guests can also choose to stay at one of Simon's 16 guest rooms around the village and on departure will receive a hamper containing a selection of preserves, fresh produce, seeds and a copy of One Dish.
A Day at Our Farm will run on the following dates and is priced at £150 per person:
July; 4th/11th/18th
August: 8th/15th
September: 5th/12th/19th
