A SOUTH Cumbrian village is going to perform a historic tradition for the Coronation that it has not done for 21 years.
Milnthorpe residents 'beat' the Parish boundaries to mark royal events. The last time it did this was for the Queen's Golden Jubilee in 2002.
Participants can wear fancy dress and will carry sticks to beat the boundary stones.
Historian Roger Bingham organised a walk around the parish boundary on Monday, May 8, which everyone is welcome to join. The walk has a prompt 10am start time.
It will start at the Cricket Pavilion onthe playing field, and will visit Paradise Lane on the southern edge of the boundary and Kirkgate Lane traversing to the A6 on the northern edge.
Roger said: "The route is mainly on public footpaths, in fields or along local lanes and pavements. At a reasonable pace, it will take about two hours but there will be several cut-off points to enable you to return to the start point, making for a shorter walk."
