A BRIDE and groom enjoyed an 'amazing just the two of us' wedding at a Lake District venue.
Mary Turner, a 28-year-old structural welding team leader at BAE Systems married Jack Culbert, a 29-year-old internal manufacturing team leader at the same company.
The couple met at the age of 11 at Dowdales School in Dalton.
"Jack was funny and quite often in trouble for disrupting the rest of the class", said Mary.
The pair got engaged two days after their daughter was born five years ago, with Mary's younger brother there to witness.
Mary said: "It was a surprise as I didn't think it was something Jack or myself was too fussed about as we already had our life together."
Mary and Jack officially got married on March 8 2023, at Cote How, in Rydal, Ambleside.
The couple used Cote How's Elopement Package, where the team planned every part of the 'amazing' wedding.
Mary said: "It was perfect for us two as we are always just us two. A big extravagant social celebration just wouldn't fit our personalities, and we would feel incredibly awkward with all the attention on us for a long day.
"With our elopement we were married within two hours and then had Tiree Dawson do our photography from the ceremony and lead us down to Rydal to take more.
"Tiree put us at such ease it was really fun and probably my favourite part of the day."
Mary said the couple celebrated a 'lovely' wedding night with friends and family at Abbey House Hotel in Barrow a month after the wedding once everyone knew.
The pair said they have yet to book anywhere to spend their honeymoon, but are actively searching for where to go next.
Mary said: "We would like to thank Caroline and the team at Cote for organising everything for us so effortlessly.
"And Tiree Dawson for her amazing photography skills and for making us laugh and enjoy the whole experience- also super fast turnaround, so we could even use some of her photos from that day as our announcement that night.
"Thank you, Leanne at Walney Bridal for the beautiful dress she designed."
