A NEW film featuring Hollywood star Tim Murphy will shine a spotlight on Cumbrian talent.
Filming for action movie Relentless - described as an action-packed, adrenaline-fuelled hit - has been underway in Appleby and Kendal. Scenes have also been filmed at a gym in Penrith.
Murphy is known for his roles as Galaan in the FX hit Sons of Anarchy and Ian Doyle in Criminal Minds.
Writer and director Christoper Torretto has scripts with some of Hollywood's biggest names and has decided instead of making this movie in the USA, he wanted to help unknown local actors get their breakthrough roles and highlight what the UK has to offer.
Filming has also created work for those passionate about the film industry in the North, with local crews being given the opportunity to work on the production.
Actor Christopher Torretto, who has worked with the likes of Ron Perlman from Sons of Anarchy and Hellboy, said: "It's okay selling films, it helps me. But it doesn’t support all the talent out there that’s being overlooked.
"My own talent got overlooked when I was told my tattoos would be my downfall. The fact that I’ve never gone and gained numerous degrees etc.
"I went on raw talent and there is so much of it here in the U.K. that deserves to be seen.
"I’m trying to help people break into the British and international film and television industry."
The film, which brings together the work of Performing Giants Productions, an LA-based distribution company and Kendal crew, will be available worldwide this summer.
