AN ORIENTEERING club has released its upcoming Easter programme of events.

The club recently held free February Family Fun Workshops in the half-term holidays in different areas across Kendal and Ulverston. The club provided a variety of map-reading games and activities such as animal trails, mazes and football pitch orienteering.

This Easter the club has prepared an Easter Trail to encourage local families to get out and explore Kendal in a new way. The details of the trail including the map and answer sheet are available to download from our website www.lakeland-orienteering.org.uk and the challenge is to discover the pictures of different bird and animal eggs which are hidden along a short route in Kendal Town Centre.  The trail will be available throughout the school holidays.

From mid-April, there will also be a spring series of events. Kathryn Savage, development officer from the club said: "All will offer courses suitable for families and those who would like to begin to learn to navigate and there will always be friendly faces available to offer a helping hand."

These will be Cunswick Scar, Kendal (April 19), Orrest Head, Windermere (April 26), and Birkrigg Common, Ulverston (May 10) beginning at 5.30pm.
