MOUNTAIN rescue teams were called to an incident after a walker injured her arm.

Kirkby Stephen Mountain Rescue Team was called out to a walker on the Pennine Way path to High Cup Nick who had badly injured her arm.

She was in too much pain to walk, so along with members of Penrith MRT, the team stretchered her off the hill and took her and her partner to Dufton where they had parked.

With pain relief and a splint, she felt she could be driven to hospital in their own car, saving a call for an ambulance. In all 17 members of KSMRT and eight of Penrith MRT were involved.
