A TEAM of staff from a Milnthorpe animal hospital are training for a charity effort in the summer.
Eight team members from Kentdale Vets will hike a full marathon across hilly terrain to raise money for charity.
The Lake District Mighty Hike raises funds for Macmillan Cancer Support.
The trek, on Saturday June 17, goes through the national park from Dalemain Mansion with views over Ullswater.
Veterinary nurse Beth Backhouse said: “This year team Kentdale is taking on the mighty hike for Macmillan Cancer Support.
“While the views will be spectacular, we’ll be concentrating our efforts on getting to the finish line and raising as much money as we can for this worthy cause.
“We decided to support Macmillan because it's a charity close to the team's heart and we've heard about all the amazing work the charity does for people and families suffering with cancer.”
Macmillan Cancer Support provides specialist health care, information and financial support to those people affected by cancer.
Those wishing to support Beth as part of team Kentdale on the Mighty Hike can donate to her JustGiving page.
