KENDAL Mountain Rescue Team were called to assist a man who had fractured his ankle.
The Cumbria Police had called for help of the rescue team after a walker slipped and fractured his ankle on Sour Howes on Friday, March 24 at 3.53pm.
A spokersperson for the Kendal Mountain Rescue Team said: "A walker was out with his wife on Sour Howes when he slipped and sustained what was later confirmed as a fractured ankle.
"They followed team advice on keeping warm and as dry as possible. Once a phonefind had given the team an exact position they were soon on scene.
"The casualty was assessed and packaged up on the stretcher for the sled/carry off down the fell. Both walkers were well equipped for their adventure with additional food, clothing and a survival bivvy."
