A NEW shop offering Cumbria produce has opened in Kendal.
Lakeland Hampers has launched a permanent shop in the town's new lifestyle destination Spinning Jennies on Finkle Street, formerly home to the Beales department store.
This year marks 20 years since Lakeland Hampers was launched and to commemorate the occasion Kendal has been gifted with a shop for local artisan food and drink.
The shop opened its doors on March 1 showcasing a wide selection of delicious locally made produce including Kendal-based Gin by Herdwick Distillery, delicious relishes and jams, liqueurs, traditional soft drinks, alongside beers from twelve local breweries.
Other local brands such as Romneys, Pennington’s, Ginger Bakers are also available in the shop.
Visitors can combine a selection of artisan products and can create their own bespoke hamper for any occasion and budget, which can then be beautifully packaged and either taken away or ordered for delivery.
Managing director Geoff Monkman said: "It is very exciting to finally open a permanent shop in Kendal stocking an array of products that we handmake ourselves just 1 mile away.
"We are also proud to be supporting other local businesses."
The managing director said the feedback so far had been 'great' and he is 'very hopeful for the future'.
The shop provides a range of delicious, locally sourced, handcrafted food and drink hampers, gift baskets and welcome packs for all occasions, tastes and budgets.
Their luxury hampers showcase some of the very best produce that Cumbria and the Lake District have to offer.
They can create the perfect hamper for all occasions whether it is a birthday, anniversary, get well or Christmas present, corporate gift, thank you treat for staff members or welcome pack for a holiday cottage.
Lakeland Hampers is the sixth shop of this kind in Cumbria with others in places such as Keswick, Lancaster, Bowness and Carlisle.
