THE Environment Agency’s contractor, commissioned to deliver the new flood management scheme in Kendal, has received full marks in the latest Considerate Constructors Scheme (CCS) Site report.

VolkerStevin has received outstanding grades for their work on the flood scheme. The CCS scheme is part of the Code of Considerate Practice which embodies the high standards the construction industry can and should achieve.

The Kendal Flood Risk Management Scheme is a multi-million-pound investment by the government to improve flood protection for over 1,400 homes and over 1,100 businesses in Kendal and across the area.

In Kendal, the contractors received 45 out of 45 marks for their way of working, with the scheme scoring the maximum 15 marks in each key area: respecting the community, caring for the environment, and valuing the workforce. The team have worked hard to maintain their excellent standard, finding new ways to engage with the community during their second year of construction within Kendal.

Stuart Newby, from VolkerStevin, said: “It is a fantastic external endorsement for all the hard work.”
