A DECISION has been made on a plan to introduce two viewing platforms at a golf club.
The scheme at Kendal Golf Club, located on the western edge of the town, was voted through unanimously by a meeting of South Lakeland District Council's (SLDC's) planning committee.
The viewing platforms are to be located adjacent to tees two and 16.
Case officer Liz Arnold told the committee meeting they would enable players to ensure golf balls were not 'raining down on unsuspecting joggers or walkers'.

The approved application, which was submitted by Sion Thomas, of SLDC, is also to see five signs positioned at various locations around Kendal Fell.
The signs will cover topics such as the history of the fell and code of conduct.
"The signs are designed to be informative," said Ms Arnold.
"They are located on public footpaths, so they are at strategic points."
