THE doors of a lounge bar in a prominent Kendal town centre location will open within the next two weeks.

Cortillo Lounge, a new cafe bar and restaurant is one of a chain of over 200 establishments operated by Loungers UK, under the Lounge and Cosy Club brands.

The company has announced an opening date of Wednesday, February 15 for the much-anticipated bar, which will occupy the premises formerly operated by Burtons, which closed in 2021.

A statement on the company's website says: "The builders are currently hard at work finishing off Cortillo Lounge in time for our opening on February 15.

"Our lounge will be a home-from-home, offering delicious food and drinks, all day, on your doorstep.

"We exist to bring people together and our unique atmosphere changes hour by hour with each new wave of customers.

"We'll serve a wide range of food and drinks – we even have our very own gluten-free and vegan menu.

"We'll have board games for big and small guests, toys for the really wee ones, and even refreshments for our canine guests.

"Old or young, big or small – pop along and we'll look after you!

"Kendal, we’ll see you soon."
