Masons Yard 24 in Kendal is set to reopen its doors

Masons Yard 24 Bar, on Stramongate, had been closed since Autumn 2021 after announcing a break to gear up for the winter season.

Due to recruitment issues the bar remained closed but it is now ready to open its doors to the public at 12pm today (Thursday, January 19).

Deighan O'Sullivan, bar manager at Masons Yard 24, will officially start her job on the opening day.

She said: "I'm looking forward to it - I think it will be a good challenge.

"I have been in hospitality all my life. I've done a lot of bar work as a barmaid, which I really enjoyed doing, so that is why I ventured into this side of things and I just found myself in a position where I wanted to take on a challenge.

"The previous manager retired and they just couldn't find the right manager and staff to come in. This time we have got five people joining the team."

The bar will be offering special discounts every day.

Deighan said they are planning to be doing food in the next couple of months once they have got everybody established and settled.

"We are hoping to do live music, like a live band or a solo artist at least once a month. Hopefully we will have something happening in February,' she said.

"We hope to get a lot of regulars in as well. I know that before it closed there was a really good group of regulars that came in all the time and they were really upset that we closed.

"The bar is perfect for those looking for a relaxed and comfortable environment. The drink offers are good."

Masons Yard 24 will be open from 12pm to 10pm on Wednesdays and Thursdays and from 12pm until 11pm on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays.

They will be closed on Mondays and Tuesdays however the management is planning to open all days of the week in the future.
