Cumbria is home to many things - gorgeous lakes, mountains and even one of the UK’s “coolest” postcodes.
The Sunday Times has revealed its list of the UK’s coolest 11 postcodes with areas such as East Lothian in Scotland and Leyton in London being named.
However, for the “cool outdoorsy crowd” the coolest postcodes reside in Kendal.
The Sunday Times wrote: “Every Patagonia-fleece-wearing type knows the best place to find GOD (the great outdoors) is in Kendal.”
The list cites Kendal as the perfect place for hiking with your dog, whether it be trails or fells, and then recovering at a nearby coffee shop or pub.
The November Mountain Festival also gets an honourable mention, an annual adventure festival that takes place to help inspire people to “explore, enjoy and represent mountains, wilderness and their cultures.”
