AFTER a 12-week project the renovation of The Angel Inn in Bowness is complete with the new-look rooms and lounges ready for guests.
The interior design has been shifted towards the house style of 'pub with rooms' company The Inn Collection Group. The communal rooms have been given a vintage feel with Victorian-style fixtures and fittings.
The rooms are in the upstairs section of the main building, an outbuilding next to the car park, and another building across the street. The two separate buildings are where the best suites, with views over Windermere, are. The final touches are still being made to these suites but other than that the revamped Angel is ready to take in guests.
The Inn Collection Group is a Newcastle-based company that has been building up a large portfolio in Cumbria. Other notable inns that are now under their banner include The Wordsworth House at Ambleside, The Swan at Grasmere and The Coniston Inn.
The Angel had been closed from October 1 to just before Christmas for the renovation. It was initially bought by the group in 2021 but was run as it was for the first year.

Andrew Robson, a senior communications officer for The Inn Collection Group, said: "We are a pub with rooms company. All we want is to have the feel of a place where the community comes and spends its free time.
"We renovated these places to a high standard and brought a new life into them. We are about giving employment opportunities to the community. We are keen to be good neighbours in terms of how we carry ourselves."
An example Mr Robson gave of this was when the company donated a large sum to the organisers of Coniston Christmas Lights, which meant that they could put up the display in a year when it was looking uncertain.
When asked if the group plans to buy any more property, Mr Robson said that '2022 has been the year of consolidation' and while nothing at the moment has come up, it is prepared to make future investments at the right time.
