A CHRISTMAS trail in Kendal invites locals to visit independent shops in this festive season.
Window displays of 12 shops have been drawn by a local artist to promote independent businesses as part of the 12 Days of Kendal Christmas.
There is a Christmas Trail Map available to download or collect from one of the many businesses across town.
People are encouraged to find each window and complete the trail with the festive item they find.
Comida, Ruskins, Factory Tap, Handsome, Kakaw, Roast Mutton, About Time, Method, Fellside Brides, Fell, Studio Pugh, Relish are the shops taking part in the project.
Bethan Thorsby is the person behind the paintings. She is an illustrator and graphic designer based in Kendal.
She said: "#The12DaysofKendal trail fits perfectly into my ethos of working small and local to support the growth of independent businesses. To be able to collaborate with the independent business community and create something bespoke is a really beautiful thing.”
Evie Garner, who is co-ordinating the project, is a freelance producer based in Kendal with a background in bringing to life illustration and animation projects and events.
She said: "It's brilliant to be able to organise something that everyone in the town can enjoy and access freely while also shining a light on the wonderful creativity we have in Kendal - both Bethan as a talented local artist and the fantastic independent businesses we have here too."
Anna Clough, of Visit Kenda,l said: "The 12 Days of Kendal Christmas Window Trail highlights the wonderful array of independent businesses we have here in Kendal and encourages locals and visitors to head to the town centre over the Festive period."
