A KIRKBY Lonsdale business was nearly drowned in orders after the launch of a swimwear sale.

The team at Copper Beech Trading in Kirkby Lonsdale dived into action when they got thousands of orders placed over night after the launch of their sale.

The storage and fulfilment specialists have been working alongside recycled plastic swimwear brand, Batoko over the past 12 months.

Copper Beech receive the swimming costumes directly from the manufacturer before quality checking them for any imperfections and then sending on to customers.

The latest Batoko sample sale was launched on 8th November, just before the start of the Black Friday rush. 

Katie Tyndale, Founder of Copper Beech Trading said, “We’ve fulfiled sales orders for Batoko previously and we were expecting a good response once the sale went live, but the actual numbers were astounding so we quickly assembled our extra staff members to help us with the fulfilment.”

Copper Beech Trading works predominantly with small and micro businesses who struggle to hold large volumes of stock and who require support with product packaging and distribution.

Katie explains, “Batoko is a good example of a growing small business who came to us because they were spending hours and hours packing their products.

"They didn’t know that our service existed and were recommended to us by a mutual contact.

“We are able to save them and businesses like them time, hassle and money through our reduced distribution costs.

"We also pride ourselves on being detail-orientated and that is very important for Batoko.

"We complete a quality control check on all the swimming costumes at the point of picking, to identify any little marks or snags.

"The costumes are then graded and any that aren’t quite perfect are sold in a sample sale at a heavily discounted price.”

After just one week, nearly half of the orders had been sent out to the eager customers of Batoko – a brand that has gained huge popularity with the outdoor swimming community and fans of their joyfully designed swimwear.
