OXENHOLME Railway Station will soon have its postal service restored as an outreach branch is planned for the location.
Post Office services in Oxenholme will be restored next month with an outreach branch opening at Oxenholme Lake District Railway Station.
Avanti West Coast has given space for Oxenholme Post Office to operate at their train station in Oxenholme Road, Oxenholme, Kendal, LA9 7HG
This service will begin on November 7.
The Postmaster for Appleby will operate the service twice a week on a Monday from 11am – 1pm and Thursday: 12.30 – 2.30pm.
The Postmaster for Appleby will be able to offer the same range of products and services as at his own full-time branch. Oxenholme will be the eleventh outreach Post Office provided by the Postmaster for Appleby and his team.
This will restore service to the community after the previous Postmaster resigned in February 2020 and the premises at 73 Helmside Road, Oxenholme, Kendal, LA9 7HA were withdrawn for Post Office use.
The outreach Post Office at Oxenholme Post Office will be a temporary solution whilst we continue to look for a permanent solution.
Samuel Williams, Post Office Network Lead, said: “We are delighted to be restoring Post Office services to Oxenholme as we know how important a Post Office is to a community.
“We thank Avanti West Coast for providing space at its train station and for the Postmaster for Appleby to providing this temporary outreach service whilst we continue to look for a permanent solution.”
