FLORAL tributes have been left at the scene of a fatal crash.

Dozens of bunches of flowers and touching tributes on cards have been placed on the outskirts of Endmoor. 

Cumbria police said shortly after 1.30 am on Sunday morning a Ford Fiesta was found having left Gatebeck Road. The incident occurred near the entrance to Parkdean Resorts holiday park. 

Despite the best efforts of paramedics, the driver, named locally as Tom Allan, was pronounced dead at the scene.

The family and the local community have left flowers where the accident occurred. One card reads: "To my amazing little brother Tom. I love and miss you so much. Treasured in my heart you will stay, until we meet again someday."  

Another card read: "To Tom, I didn't know you for long, but I thought you were a brilliant lad and an amazing brother. I promise to look after her and keep your family safe. You have my word. Fly high Tom, Miles L."

Other messages included: "Lots of love for you Tom. Rest easy." 

At the scene, candles were laid out spelling Tom's name. People who knew him and well-wishers were at the scene to pay their respects yesterday morning.

Councillor Roger Bingham called the event a 'tragedy' and wanted to extend his condolences to the family. 

Christine Knipe, chief executive of the Agricultural Society also wanted to extend her condolences and said: "It is a tragic loss of a young life."

Cumbria Officers are still appealing for anyone who has any information to contact them on 101.

A spokesman said: "Police are investigating a one-vehicle collision on Gatebeck Road, Endmoor, in the early hours of October 16.

"Shortly after 1.30am a Ford Fiesta was found having left the road.

"Despite the best efforts of paramedics, the driver, a man in his late teens, was pronounced deceased at the scene."
