Kendal Boxing referee Alvin Finch gets the nod from England Boxing

A CUMBRIAN boxing referee and former Town Mayor has been recognised by England Boxing for his latest work.

Alvin Finch, a councillor for Kendal and former boxer, has been given some official recognition by the sports body for his work out in Italy for the Eubc - European Boxing Confederation Junior European Championships 2022.

England Boxing said: “Great to see England Boxing official Alvin Finch, affiliated with Barrow Amateur Boxing Club, as part of the R&J team out in Italy for the Eubc - European Boxing Confederation Junior European Championships 2022.

“Well done, Alvin.”

Alvin, who is currently working in Italy, said: “It's fantastic to be back refereeing in a big competition after lockdown. there's some talent here and I'm sure a future world champion will come out of this tournament.”
