A65 collision: Two dead and one in hospital 

TWO people have died after a crash involving two cars.

Police were called just after 12am in the early hours of today to a collision on the A65 at Stainton.

The collision involved a black Citroën Saxo and a white Vauxhall Antara, police said.

Kendal Lidl opening schedule announced, development started

LIDL has announced that development of its new supermarket on Beezon Road in Kendal, formerly Homebase, has begun.

Working with construction firm Thomas Armstrong, the fit-out works at the store are expected to take around six months, with a view to opening next Spring.

Driver dies in serious M6 road traffic collision

A DRIVER has died after a serious road traffic collision on the M6 motorway.

Lancashire Police announced the death of an individual after the incident that happened on M6 southbound between Broughton and junction 31 at Samlesbury.

Windermere to feature in Channel 5 Michaela Strachan documentary

A CHANNEL 5 documentary about waterways in Britain will feature Windermere. 

The documentary, featuring Michaela Strachan, will be released in October but it is not known yet what its name is. 

One of the episodes will be centred around Windermere and Michaela will be shown around the lake and the River Rothay by activist Matt Staniek.

Family have Hayes Garden World tickets cancelled over 'mistake'

A MUM has spoken of her anger after tickets for a much-anticipated Christmas event were cancelled.

Stacey Ralph, from Barrow, says that she was barred from Hayes Garden World's Christmas Grotto after her five-year-old daughter Cleo took a fairy from a popular display at the garden centre, near Ambleside.

Dale Farm to close operations at Kendal and Newton Stewart

DALE Farm could cease operation at its Kendal site as it looks to restructure the Great Britain arm of its business.

The co-operative said the restructure could result in a proposal to close its facilities in Kendal and Rowan Glen, Newton Stewart. It employs around 200 staff at these sites.
