Kendal Cricket Club are safe from relegation after they defeated bottom of the table Vernon Carus by eight wickets at Shap Road.
Matthew Parks first innings return of 7-19 saw the visitors bowled out for 95 in 43 overs before Rongsen Jonathans undefeated 64 off 39 and Oliver Tyson’s undefeated 30 off 49 balls guided Kendal to victory in just 20 overs closing on 90-2.
Kendal who won the toss and elected to field made the best possible start after Kuldeep Singh bowed Jack Airey from first the ball of the game.
Vernon Carus offered some resistance through both club Captain Wes Royle and Professional Kasun Mudiyanselage who pushed their team onto 51.
Kendal was soon in control after Toby Tyson picked up the wicket of Wes Royle who was caught by Paidi Robinson while Matthew Park bowled Christian Ash.
The Auld Greys continued to rip through the visitors after Matthew Park bowled Ben Duerden, Kasun Mudiyanselage, Hasan Zaman, Matthew Timms and Jacob Holland while the visitors were bowled out for 95.
Park closed on figures of 7-19 whilst Kasun Mudiyanselage top scored with 56 off 97 for the visitors who are relegated from the Northern Cricket League.
In reply, Kendal made a slow start after they reduced on 8-2 when Matthew Timms trapped Paul Dodds LBW before Jamie Rigby ran out Paidi Robinson.
Rongsen Jonathans undefeated quick-fire knock of 64 off 59 balls and Oliver Tysons undefeated 30 off 49 balls saw Kendal to victory after they closed on 99-2 off 20 overs.
