In-Cumbria has joined forces with Cumbria Chamber of Commerce to deliver an International Women's Day event.
The event, which will take place on International Women's Day (March 8, 2023) at North Lakes Hotel, offers an exciting day of workshops, networking and talks. Attendees will get the chance hear from some of Cumbria’s most influential businesswomen along with special guests.
The workshops in the morning will be focussed on providing practical and actionable knowledge and skills, as well as telling inspiring stories and sparking thought-provoking conversations. A relaxed networking lunch is then followed by a panel discussion and Q&A with businesswomen sharing their knowledge and experience.
International Women’s Day is celebrated across the globe to highlight the achievements of women and shed light on issues such as women’s rights and gender equality.
With their 2023 event, the Chamber aim to recognise the significant impact women have on businesses in Cumbria and create an environment where women from across the county can get together to share advice and experiences.
The Chamber’s previous International Women’s Day event was a huge success welcoming over 80 guests and speakers from diverse backgrounds. To meet this high demand, the Chamber has increased capacity for their 2023 event to 120.
In-Cumbria are the latest local business to join the team of sponsors backing the event.
Eve Halliday, Head of Commercial and Business Growth at Cumbria Chamber said: "I’m thrilled to have the team at In-Cumbria working alongside us at this event. We’ve got a great group of sponsors and partners who are working together to showcase what the county has to offer.
"Last year’s event was excellent and this year will be even bigger. Although aimed at women, International Women’s Day is also open to men. It’s all about empowering women, sharing knowledge and developing the next generation of leaders and all genders can play a part in that.’’
Head of Sales for in-Cumbria, Emily Wood said: "We’re extremely excited to be working in partnership with the Chamber to participate in and promote this great event; especially in relation to what is such an inspiring and diverse topic. We encourage as many people as possible to attend and benefit from the plethora of shared knowledge available."
This year will see the return of sponsors Baines Wilson, who have been long-standing supporters of the Chamber’s Women in Business Network. Also returning is the University of Cumbria and their Innovation team, while new to the roster are Rachael Bell Wealth Management.
