POLICE seized £60,000 in cash and arrested a woman on suspicion of money laundering.
Around £60,000 cash was seized after officers from Lancashire Police’s Tactical Operations department searched a car in Carnforth yesterday (August 11).
The Kia Niro was stopped in the town’s Dunkirk Avenue after leaving the M6 motorway just after 2pm.
And according to police, the search of the vehicle recovered a carrier bag containing the large quantity of cash.
Officers subsequently arrested a 34-year-old woman from Lancaster on suspicion of money laundering.
She was interviewed and later released under investigation.
Further enquiries are being carried out by the Economic Crime Unit.
