PERMISSION is being sought for changes to a South Lakeland holiday park to enable an increase in the number of caravan pitches.
The application from Haven Leisure Limited relates to Lakeland Leisure Park, near Flookburgh.
The site currently has 1,113 pitches.
The application description reads: “Redevelopment of touring area to provide new pitches for the siting of static caravans with associated demolition, landscaping, infrastructure, and other works; and an overall change to the total caravan pitches allowed at Lakeland Leisure Park to enable up to 1,147 pitches.”
A planning statement submitted in support of the application says: "The proposal will have a positive impact on the local economy, including the creation of direct and indirect jobs and increased spending in the local area.
"The economic benefits are important, particularly as the tourism sector continues to recover following the significant impact Covid-19 had on the sector through the various lockdowns and restrictions."
