KENDAL’S Mayor has congratulated a member of the BGKT Buddhist Group on her most recent achievement.
Mayor of Kendal Councillor Douglas Rathbone met with Jacquetta Gomes in the Mayors Parlour in Kendal Town Hall to celebrate her passing of an important course.
Jacquetta is a member of SCA Spiritual Care Association FRCD First Responders Chaplain Division.
She has just passed the SCA Crisis, Trauma, and First Response Certificate Course for Chaplains.
Jacquetta is acknowledged as the first female Buddhist Fire Chaplain in the world.
Jacquetta Gomes is included as a Contemporary Person of Distinction in Burke’s Landed Gentry: The Principality of Wales and The North West, (19th Edition), Volume III England’s North West including Contemporary People of Distinction, published by Burke’s Peerage and Gentry.
She was the first Buddhist to be included as a Contemporary Person of Distinction.
The First Responder Chaplain Division of the Spiritual Care Association that focuses on the spiritual dimension of professional first response practice including professional chaplains whose specialization.
The First Responder Chaplain Division supports the advancement of the spiritual care component of first response practice as an integral aspect of high-quality whole person care for all including the professional providing the care.
She met with the Mayor on July 25 at the town hall to congratulate her on her success.
