NETHERFIELD hit with their second league defeat following latest encounter in the Northern League.
The squad were hit by their second straight league defeat losing by 10 runs at Northern League Champions in Blackpool.
South African Sub Professional Thomas Kaber returned first innings figures of 4-17 after Netherfield bowled Blackpool out for 166.
Despite a steady reply of 50-0 between Ben Barrow and Reece Irving, Netherfield were soon in trouble and while Kaber top scored with 41, Matthew Grindleys second innings return of 4-47 saw Netherfield bowled out for 156 off 49.2 overs.
Netherfield who lost the toss and were put into field struggled during the early stages where both Tomas King and Kasim Munir frustrated after they posted a first wicket stand of 48.
Netherfield broke the partnership when Samuel Medhurst claimed the wicket of Munir who was caught behind by Finlay Richardson.
Joshua Boyne and Tomas King threatened to take the game away from Netherfield after they both pushed Blackpool ahead onto 97.
Matt Jacksons team pulled the game back in their favour, when Dan Bernet trapped Joshua Boyne LBW before a flurry of wickets saw Netherfield in control.
Thomas Kaber brought into the attack dismissed top scorer Tomas King who departed for 59 after he picked Ben Barrow before Bernet bowled Dylan Henshall.
Kaber claimed two quick wickets after he despatched of both Benjamin Heath and Alex Ryder, before Oli Wileman saw off Blackpool Professional Naushad Shaikh who was caught by Reece Irving.
Matthew Grindley frustrated after scoring 14 runs before Oli Wileman dismissed Blackpool’s opening bowler,and Netherfield cleaned the tail up with Reece Irving seeing off Steven Mercer while Thomas Kaber caught and bowled Paul Danson with Blackpool all out for 166.
Ben Barrow and Reece Irving posted a first wicket stand of 50 as Netherfield made a steady start, however Blackpool pulled the game back after Steven Mercer trapped Ben Barrow LBW before Naushad Shaikh dismissed Finlay Richardson who was caught by Matthew Grindley.
Netherfield continued to lose wickets after Dylan Henshall ran out Reece Irving, while Brad Earl was caught by Alex Ryder off the bowling of Steven Mercer.
Matthew Grindley trapped Isaac Medhurst LBW, before taking the wickets of Oli Wileman and Dan Bernet with Netherfield edging their score along to 133.
Thomas Kaber who top scored with 41 saw his innings come to an end after he was bowled by Matthew Grindley while Joshua Boyne bowled Samuel Medhurst.
Louis Backhouse posted a quick fire 14 off 9 balls to keep Netherfield in contention however his late rally proved to be in vein after he was run out by Steven Mercer, while Netherfield were bowled out for 156 off 49.2 overs.
Netherfield host Leyland on Saturday.
