Things are looking up for a balloon distribution business in Milnthorpe.

Bosses at Kalisan UK said they are ‘excited and proud’ to announce that they have signed an exclusive five-year deal to distribute and partner up with a Turkish balloon company.

The company, which is based at the old Libby’s factory in Milnthorpe, has signed an exclusive distribution licence with Kalisan, the leading Turkish brand of balloons.

Managing director Richard Aylett said he was ‘thrilled and excited’ to be working with the ballon brand and to have brought it to the Lake District.

“The party industry is worth over £10 billion a year and Kalisan has certainly found its position in the market as one of the market leaders and will only go from strength to strength,” he said.

A Kalisan spokesman said: “Kalisan with its unique colour pallete has fast become one of the UK’s leading brand of balloons used by balloon decorators up and down the country, we have managed to place the product in all the main party wholesalers across the UK and the demand has been overwhelming, since taking on this licence we have doubled our workforce and expect to employ 10 people within the next 12 months.”
