A FORMER post office and village shop is set to be turned into residential accommodation after a change-of-use application was given the green light by South Lakeland District Council's planning committee.
The plan is for the now vacant ground floor of the building in Main Street, Greenodd, to form a single dwelling alongside the existing residential space on the lower-ground, first and second floors.

The post office has functioned as an outreach service since 2009. The service moved to the village hall at the end of May. The village shop has closed, however.
Thursday's meeting heard efforts had been made to sell the business over a period of more than two years but that no parties had expressed interest in taking it on.
The application was given unanimous approval by the planning committee.
