CARNFORTH saw an incredible turnout for their Jubilee Street Party which brought hundreds of residents to celebrate the occasion over the weekend.
Held from June 2 until June 5, the town was decorated with Union Flags, bunting, and red, white, and blue colours.

During the engagement, Mayor Smith said: “I’ve been Mayor for a couple of weeks and I’ve been thrown into the deep end with the Jubilee. I was delighted to be asked by the landlord Bill Johnston to open the event at The Canal Turn.
“We have sourced bands locally from Carnforth to join us on Saturday. I’m in one of those bands in fact as well.
“We’re in a little trio and we’re on first which we’re excited about.
“Whole community has come together; we’ve got some dedicated town councillors who put the flags up. Some bunting has been made by a member of the community. All the shops have decorated their windows.
“For our future, as Mayor one of the things I really want to do is look to what we can do for the youth of Carnforth.
“We need to reflect their wants and ideas.
“We also have aspiration to eventually become carbon neutral. So we’re looking to make it a better place to cycle and walk.”
The day also saw celebrations and entertainment continue at Carnforth High School where music and fairground rides were put on for the kids.
