POLICE stopped a HGV after they saw the driver using his mobile phone.
Eden Police noticed the vehicle on the A66 near Appleby as it ‘swerved’ towards officers.
Officers said they then saw the driver was using his mobile phone and stopped him.
He was issued six points on his licence and was given a £200 fine.
A force spokesman said: “This articulated HGV caught my attention on the A66 near Appleby as it swerved towards me.
“I then noticed the driver was using his mobile phone. This is dangerous and unacceptable.
“Driver stopped and issued six points plus £200 fine.”
