A RESCUE organisation has saved a man from the face of a mountainside during turbulent weather.
Patterdale Mountain Rescue Team evacuated a man suffering from chest pains from Helvellyn, near the popular spot Red Tarn.
The organisation said that their latest rescue off Striding Edge, Helvellyn required the evacuation of a gentleman suffering from chest pains.
The casualty was just past the 'Bad Step', but due to location and wind conditions they were unable to winch him from the scene.
The team set up a technical lowering system and the casualty was lowered down the gully towards Red Tarn where he was transferred to the Coastguard Rescue helicopter for transfer to hospital.
